Information
Appointment Slips
At least twice a year, a notice will be delivered to you, usually during one of your earlier classes. Runners from the Counseling Office give these slips to your teachers who relay them to you.
If you are having a test in the class you will be leaving to come for your appointment, please let the Counseling Office know this so another student can be seen instead.
Otherwise, please try to be prompt for your appointment. Your counselors will appreciate these considerations.
Remember the System of Contact
Fill out a "Request for Counseling Appointment" slip available in the Counseling Office. Your counselor will contact you, usually the same day or the very next day.
If the problem is urgent, write the word "URGENT" on the request slip.
Conversations between counselors and students are confidential.
Don't be afraid to come to your counselor with anything you feel you may not be able to handle.
Requests for Counseling
If you should wish to see your guidance counselor for any reason, please fill out a "Request for Counseling" appointment slip. These can be found at the entrance of the Counseling Center. You will be contacted within 24 hours.
Resources
The Counseling Center is stocked with catalogs, brochures, videos, and applications for most colleges and universities as well as financial aid materials and ACT and SAT test applications. Videos can be checked out overnight for viewing at home. Materials are restocked frequently. See Mrs. Jantz for more details.
Scholarship Information
Seniors should refer to the "Scholarship list" on Family Connection for available scholarship opportunities. For additional information, students should see Mrs. Jantz in the Counseling Department.
