ANNOUNCEMENTS
In the event of a possible snowstorm approaching, can we count on you to help shovel the homes of senior citizens? If you are available to help, please come to the main office during these announcements or see Mr. Sundermeier sometime today.
Any Junior who wants to apply for the John Hosty Crusader Award, please pick up an application in the main office. The requirements for the award are having a 2.5 min cumulative g.p.a, extra-curriculars, and be in the junior class. The award is presented by the Dads' Club.
The volunteers who are helping at St. Martin’s Shelter will gather in the front foyer to leave at 2:15 and return at 5:00 pm.
Attention Pool Players: If you did not yet join Pool Club but would like to, pick up a permission form from the Student Activities office and bring it with you to today's session. All pool players should return permission forms and payment to Ms. Pacetti today.
Attention Seniors: The Class of 2010 Panoramic picture will be taken on Thursday, February 11 during 7th period. If you wish to order a panoramic picture, you must have a completed form and payment with you on Thursday when you get your pictures taken. Extra forms are available in the Student Activities office.
Attention Juniors! Brother Rice is offering a FREE ACT Practice exam on February, 20th at 9am. Please see the flyers around school, your counselor, or Ms. Lucas for information on how to register for the test.
Financial Aid forms for the next school year are now available in the Finance Office.
SERVICE
Reminder to all Juniors interested in applying for peer ministry next year, applications are due by next Friday, February 12th. Also, there are several new service opportunities available to those in need of hours for this semester. Stop by the campus ministry office for more info.
MEETINGS
Anime Club will meet today, Feb. 8th from 2:45 until 3:45 in room 207.
The Drama Club will meet today at 3:00 pm in room 109. All members must attend, please bring your character analysis with you to the meeting.
SPORTS
On Friday night, the Varsity basketball team defeated Providence 49 - 37. The Crusaders are now 14 - 5 overall and 7 - 3 in the Catholic League. The next home game will be this Friday night as the sophomore and varsity teams will host Bishop McNamara. Friday night will be Alumni Night, Incoming Freshmen Night, and 7th Grade Basketball Night. A huge crowd is expected, please arrive early and wear orange.
Congratulations to the Br. Rice Wrestling team for finishing 3rd in this past Saturday's state regional. Br. Rice advanced 10 wrestlers to this weekend's state sectional meet at De LaSalle high school. These are the most wrestlers ever to qualify for sectionals in the history of Br Rice's wrestling program. Good Luck Crusader's and keep it going.
Attention Soccer Players: Soccer open gym tonight from 7-9 pm.
Volleyball open gym tonight and Thursday 7:30-9:00 pm
in the South Gym.
